Absolutely loved The Midsummer Mystery!

I just finished The Midsummer Mystery and it was incredible! The story was so immersive, and the puzzles were challenging but fair. Every piece of evidence felt so real, and the digital elements really brought the whole case to life. My friends and I had such a blast working through it. I can't wait to try another one of their games. I'm definitely going to recommend these to everyone I know!

Fun game, quick delivery

Got The Sudden Silence. It was a lot of fun to play with my family. The clues were interesting. It shipped quickly too. No problems with anything.

Great fun, good support

I ordered The Disappearance of Claire Makova last month, and it arrived within five business days, which was faster than I expected for standard shipping. The game itself was high-quality, with well-designed physical clues and a compelling story that kept my partner and I engaged for several evenings. We did get stuck on one puzzle, but their online hints system was really helpful without giving too much away. The overall experience felt polished and professional. I've played a few other at-home mysteries, and this one stands out for its immersive digital components alongside the physical evidence. I'm already looking at their Season 1 Box Set.

Good for a relaxed evening

I grabbed The Trouble in Tinseltown to try something new for a date night. It was pretty cool, took us a few hours to work through everything. The physical stuff was neat. The online part made it feel a bit more modern than just a board game. It was a chill way to spend an evening in.

Engaging but slow shipping

I bought The Cursed Exhibition for a game night with friends. The mystery itself was very well-crafted and the puzzles were clever – everyone had a good time trying to solve it. The physical components felt durable and looked good. My only slight complaint was the shipping; it took closer to eight business days to arrive, which was a bit longer than I anticipated given the confirmation email. It wasn't a huge deal since we weren't in a rush, but something to note if you need it by a specific date. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the tracking, though. Overall, a good experience and worth the price.

can you play these games by yourself? or are they definitely designed for multiple people?

M Melissa Evans 2 weeks ago
Totally playable solo! I've done a few on my own and it's a great challenge. They even have a specific 'Solo Play Games' section, I think.

Yeah, I play them by myself all the time. It's a different vibe than with a group, but still super fun and immersive.

i'm a student, any chance of a student discount?

P Paul Harris 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure they do. I remember seeing something about it, might be through one of those student ID verification sites.

Pretty sure they have one! Look for it in the footer or on a dedicated discount page. Most places do these days.

hey, was looking at the 'Disappearance of Claire Makova' game. how long does one of these usually take to finish? trying to plan a game night.

C Carol D. 3 weeks ago
From my experience, a single game like that can run anywhere from 2-4 hours. Depends on how good you are at puzzles and if you're playing solo or with a group.

Yeah, if you get stuck, it can take a bit longer. But they have hints so you won't be totally lost. My group usually takes about 3 hours.

how do these compare to something like Hunt A Killer? looking for a new mystery game.

E Ella D. 3 weeks ago
I've played both! Detective Society feels a bit more, idk, 'traditional' detective work? More paper-based clues, less online stuff sometimes. Hunt A Killer can be a bit more intense with the story.

Hmm, I'd say TDS is more puzzle-focused, like you're really 'detecting'. Hunt A Killer sometimes feels a bit more like reading a mystery novel with props. Both good, just different flavors.

do these games require a constant internet connection? or can I just download stuff and play offline?

S Sandra Jones 1 week ago
Nah, mostly you're good. You'll need it to access hints or submit your final answer, but the main game, all the physical stuff, is totally offline.

i think you need it for the initial setup maybe, and for any digital 'clues' or debriefing. but for the actual puzzling part, you're fine without it.
